Delight your appetite at our premier dining venue, the Waterford Restaurant. Located at the Kerzner Building, Auckland Park Bunting Road Campus.
We are all about good food infused with indigenous African food cultures, creativity, service quality and excellence.
In recognition of the School of Tourism and Hospitality’s partnership and collaboration with the Waterford Hotel Group, it comes as no surprise that the main restaurant is named Waterford.
The CEO of the Waterford Hotel Group, Mr. Len Wolman, is a great partner and supporter of the School. He is an STH Golden Circle Alumnus Award winner and in 2020 was awarded the UJ Alumni Dignitas Award in recognition of achieving excellence in his profession.
Waterford Restaurant provides breakfast and lunch offerings to the broad campus community and surrounds. Where required the restaurant also accommodates conference and events guests.
Breakfast:
Get your day off to an amazing start. Come sample our breakfast selection in a calm and relaxed environment. Breakfast buffet is served daily, Monday to Fridays from 07:00 to 10:00
Lunch:
Lunch at the Waterford Restaurant is one not to be missed. Whether you need to book a table for a large group or a table for one – join us for a nutritious treat. Do not miss our popular Friday braai offering and book a table to unwind after a long week.
Lunch buffet is served daily, Mondays to Fridays, from 12:00 to 14:00
With an in-house team of Chefs on hand, the restaurant caters to a variety of tastes and a keen focus on health and wellness is complimented by an expanded incorporation of African indigenous meal offerings.
Adjacent to the Waterford Restaurant and flanked by our cellar is the Tasting Room, which offers award-winning wines which can be paired with the perfect meal to any special occasion – be it an intimate dinner for two or a small celebration with friends and colleagues.
Adjoining the Faculty of Art Design and Architecture (FADA), the Design Café is a well placed.
A hive of student creative energy and zest, the café is known for its designer coffees of origin. Grab a cuppa on the go, or sit back and enjoy your hot beverage with a light sandwich or snack

Whether you are an aficionado or someone who really enjoys their coffee, you also have a chance to engage the team on the various coffee varieties and even purchase a special blend Asali to prepare and enjoy in the comfort of your home
In recognizing that the majority of smallholder coffee farmers in the African continent are kept poverty stricken due to a lack of market access and production resources. The specialty coffee beans are ethically sourced through various partnerships from country of origin, traceable to the farms and cooperatives that grow them. This provides for a much more sustainable system of production for the farmers in the respective regions.

Nestled in the 3rd Floor of the iconic glass-cased building of the Johannesburg Business School is the JBS Coffee Shop, fast becoming the go-to place for meeting venues, un-matched service, sumptuous breakfast and lunch offerings for people on the move.
Madibeng Conference and Restaurant is located at the UJ Auckland Park, Kingsway Campus. Access to the conference and restaurant facilities is limited to UJ academic community and stakeholders associated UJ departments/faculties.
Whether you need a space to wind down from a busy day or simply to connect with peers, friends and colleagues the Alumni Network Bar is the place to be whilst the city bleeds traffic through its arterial road network.
The Bar came about as a collaboration amongst STH Alumni seeking to connect and give back to their Alma Mater.
The result is a fun and increasingly popular social space that draws diversity of people within and outside of the UJ community.
